I know, I know, snails are the enemy, but this little yellow one, which chose to climb atop one of the rock sculptures I’d built, was too beautiful and brave to be rid of. Just to give you a sense of how hard he worked:

I was amazed. But not just by the snail. There’s been so much great stuff going on in the backyard these past few days. Here are more scenes from the H&O garden, in all of its almost-glory:

I have no idea what to do with cuban oregano (otherwise known as spanish thyme), but I’m going to find out (I read that it can be used as a substitute for sage). In any case, it was just too gorgeous and fragrant to pass up. I swear, I get to the Liberty/Sunset Garden Center and all restraint goes out the window. Out. The. Window. In a good way.
